Building the Bridge Between China and Africa
On Thursday, September 10, 2026, the Pan-African Institute for Supply Chain Innovation (PAISCI), led by its Executive Director, Dr. Segun Ogunnaike, visited Lagos Free Zone for a strategic engagement focused on unlocking new investment and manufacturing opportunities between China and Nigeria.
The discussions explored how PAISCIās China network and access to Ningboās vast manufacturing ecosystem of more than 100,000 manufacturers could be leveraged to attract Chinese manufacturers and investors to Nigeria and connect them to the wider African market.
Hosted by Richard Atigogo, Manager, Sales, Lagos Free Zone, the engagement examined opportunities for collaboration in manufacturing, investment promotion, supply-chain innovation, logistics and trade facilitation.
A key outcome was the exploration of a proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between PAISCI and Lagos Free Zone, alongside plans for targeted engagement with Chinese manufacturers and potential investor delegations from Ningbo to Nigeria.
With Lagos Free Zone strategically integrated with the Lekki Deep Sea Port, the proposed partnership could strengthen the connection between Chinese manufacturing capabilities and Nigeriaās industrial ecosystem, while opening pathways to the wider African market.
PAISCI is building knowledge, partnerships, and supply-chain bridges for a more connected, competitive and industrially resilient Africa.
